In order to start cloning your medical marijuana plants you will need to get a few things together. Most of the items on the list below can be found at your local grow store, grocery store or your local Big Box store. - Advanced Nutrients – B52 Fertilizer Booster
- Advanced Nutrients – Clone It Root Gel
 - Sterile, unused scalpel or Clean, sharp, unused scissors
 - Isopropanol Alcohol 99%
 - Potting soil – Soil, peat moss, perlite and vermiculite
- Rockwool cubes
- 12 oz Beer Cups
- Planting tray and cover
- Empty spray bottle
First, clean every work surface and instrument with the Isopropanol alcohol. This will ensure that there are no microorganisms that will harm the marijuana clones. Rinse out all of the potting cups and planting trays. Once you have cleaned everything, mix a half-gallon batch of the Advanced Nutrients B52. Follow the directions on the label for the appropriate quantities. Fill one of the beer cups half-way with the nutrient solution and set aside (This will be used later to keep all of the cuttings healthy during transplant). Once you have mixed the nutrients for the plants you need to make a foliar spray. Follow the instructions on the label for mixing and pour into a clean spray bottle. Next you need to assemble your potting cups. Using a cordless drill, drill 3 or 4 drainage holes in the bottom of the cup. This will allow any excess water and nutrients to drain from the plant preventing mould, rot and a whole host of other potential problems. Once the cups are prepared they need to be labeled. I like to record the strain name as well as the cloning date on the cup. Fill the cups half way with your pre-mixed growing medium and arrange the cups in the bottom of the planting tray. Your pre-mixed growing medium should be a mixture of 50% organic soil, 25% peat moss and 25% perlite. Remember, these are going to get much bigger, so leave a one inch space between the cups. Now that the potting cups are arranged we can water each cup. Pour the water evenly over the entire surface of the soil to help stimulate even root growth. Once the soil is prepared, we can begin prepping the rockwool cubes. Rockwool is usually a man made medium of interwoven fibers. These fibers are incredible at retaining water and air next to the roots. This promotes root growth as well as nutrient uptake. I like to put the rockwool in a clean, sterile planting tray and pour the nutrient solution over the rockwool to soak it thoroughly. I use a plastic beer cup to collect the excess nutrient solution and then re-pour the mixture over the rockwool to ensure complete saturation.
